A Foot In The Crease - Episode 37

The second round of the playoffs has begun and our coverage continues on episode 37 of A Foot In The Crease. Who’s Hot, Who’s Not looks at the suddenly inspired play of the Carolina Hurricanes and discusses why the Montreal Canadiens fell apart in such a hurry.

Our fifteenth Defining Moment in Leaf History looks at the last legacy of Ace Bailey and how an injury he suffered in 1933 inspired the first ever NHL All Star Game.

A very extensive version of the Redline Report includes some Leafs notes regarding the futures of Mikael Tellqvist and Luke Richardson with the team and a report on a variety of injuries including those pertaining to Peter Forsberg and Saku Koivu. As well we discuss some topics from an episode of Coach’s Corner from about a week ago. The World Championships are just underway in Riga, Lativa and we discuss Team Canada’s roster. The host city was announced this past week for the 2009 World Junior Hockey Championships and we have a report on that as well along with of course, extensive coverage of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

In On The Bubble, we profile Cam Ward of the Carolina Hurricanes and Rigamarole takes a look at what took place in game 7 of the Flames Ducks series. We are not sure if it was a hockey game that we saw….

The music from this week’s episode from the Podsafe Music Network included “Train Set Nightmares” by Negative Sleep Machine, “I Don’t Care” by Emprie Under Attack and “My Land” by neogene.

We always love to hear feedback from our listeners and we respond to them on the show. This week for some odd reason we got incredibly high listener numbers, but no emails! If you have any hockey-thoughts, send them along to afootinthecrease@gmail.com
