Crash the Net Podcast - Season 2 Episode 5

Episode 5 of the Crash the Net Podcast was not as pleasant to record as some of the previous episodes. Both the Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburgh Penguins had tough weeks. We looked at those weeks as Detroit continued their intra-divisional match-ups with Chicago, St. Louis, and Columbus. Pittsburgh also struggled this week against teams in their own division. They played New Jersey, and both of the teams from New York, the Islanders and Rangers.

In the news segment of episode eight of the Sin Bin Show we coincidentally covered news from the creases of Phoenix of and New Jersey as we looked at Bryzgalov’s move to the desert and Martin Brodeur’s further trip into to the hockey history books. In the Team of the Week we looked at the surprising play of the St. Louis Blues. We had a repeat recipient in the Three Stars of the Week to cap off the show.

A Foot In The Crease - Episode 3.11 - Featuring John Iaboni

Episode 3.11 of AFITC brings you news of a week that started out very discouragingly for the Maple Leafs but ended in spectacular fashion against the Ottawa Senators. In the Revolving Door Club, we welcome a new member and provide an update on a returning veteran of the club. After the disagreement in the warm up before a game over a week ago on November 10th against the Rangers, we discuss the punishment handed down by the NHL to all parties concerned. Quick Hits conclude the Redline Report featuring news on Fernando Pisani, Sheldon Souray, Ilja Bryzgalov, and Doug Armstrong.

In On The Bubble, we feature more Listener Email from Andre, Gregory, David, Alan and Aaron as well as a Troubling Fact of the Week Incidentally support seems to be growing for the oft-disgruntled Gong Banger in the form of a Facebook group started by listener and regular contributor Alan Bass. Join that group if you sympathize with the Gong Banger.

Sin Bin Show - Episode 7

Episode 7 was jam packed with news of a Hall of Fame caliber! Mostly because we started the show off by talking about the 4 new inductees into the Hockey Hall of Fame. After that we jumped into the news of Eric Lindros and his retirement. Next up was two huge milestones for two great American players. In the team of the week we took a closer look at the New York Rangers, and their resurgance. We capped the show off with the three stars of the week including the Sin Bin Player of the Week.

A Foot In The Crease - Episode 100

After a long wait, it’s finally here. We’ve hit the century mark on AFITC. Episode 3.10 comes your way today on Remembrance Day 2007. Today on the program, we review the Maple Leafs three games from the past week: a loss against Ottawa, a win against Buffalo and a shootout loss against the New York Rangers. Just when the Maple Leafs thought they were fully healthy, a new player joins the Revolving Door club. We’ll tell who that is and how bad his injury is coming up in the Redline Report.

Additional Leaf notes this week feature Anton Stralman and Simon Gamache. Former Leaf Eric Lindros retired from the NHL this past week. A great career, but is it Hall of Fame worthy. We’ll answer that question and conclude the Redline Report with Quick Hits featuring Mike Modano and Jeremy Roenick. On the Bubble features our most ambitious portion of listener email yet and another Troubling Fact of the Week, this week featuring Kevin Bieksa again.

To conclude the segment, James Duthie – the host of the NHL on TSN joins us to discuss a variety of topics pertaining to the Maple Leafs and issues around the NHL. A great guest as always, you won’t want to miss James Duthie near the end of the program. Big thanks go out to James who took time out of his very busy week to join us on the program!

Rigamarole will conclude the show and touch on what Mark Bell will bring to the Maple Leafs.

Thanks to everybody who sent us an email on the program this week. It’s great to know where the show is being heard!

Crash the Net Podcast - Season 2 Episode 4

In this week's show we look at the last three games for the Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Wings took on Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary all on the road, while the Penguins had their own road trip to deal with traveling to Minnesota, Colorado, and Long Island. We look at how last week's predictions worked out, and make more predictions for this week. This show was actually recorded on Monday night, but is being put out late on Tuesday due to the fact that I was a poll worker today and had to be at the polling location by 5:30am.

A Foot In The Crease - Episode 3.9

The Maple Leafs week progressed from horrendous against Washington to impressive against Montreal with elements of both in between in New Jersey. We will have all the details of those games in the Redline Report along with injury updates on Darcy Tucker, Bryan McCabe, Kyle Wellwood, and Carlo Colaiacovo in the Revolving Door. Mark Bell is eligible to return Tuesday in Ottawa. What will he bring to the lineup? Simon Gamache now has some security but will he stay once others return? We’ll answer both those questions as well. Rick Tocchet’s ban for his role in an illegal gambling ring now has an end in sight. We’ll tell you when it ends and if it was long enough. Quick Hits this week feature news on Randy Jones, Miikka Kiprusoff, Peter Bondra, Jason Spezza, Patrick Kane and Scott Niedermayer.

In On The Bubble, listener email comes your way along with another Troubling Fact of the Week, this week featuring an erratic gong banger and a gruesome injury.

In rigamarole, we will look at whether or not the Leafs are deserving of their current spot in the Eastern Conference Standings.

Next week will mark out century episode as AFITC will reach one hundred shows in its history. On that show, James Duthie – the host of the NHL on TSN – will be along with us as our special guest.

Sin Bin Show - Episode 6

We are now through the first month of the season, and it has been filled with many surprises. This episode takes a look back at the last month, but we start the show looking a contract extension for the final member of Ottawa’s top line, Jason Spezza. Next we discuss the early success the Columbus Blue Jackets have found riding on the back of their goaltender. After that we start a new segment where we will be looking at a team that really stood out over the last week. For this week it was the Detroit Red Wings who won all three of their games on the road this week to continue on a 7 game win streak. We cap off the show with the Three Stars of the Week, including the Sin Bin Player of the Week.
