Today, we bring you episode 2.5 of A Foot in the Crease, the first since the commencement of the regular season, and what a show it is.
Two interviews to preview and make sense of the Leafs first two regular season games against the Ottawa Senators: one with Shredder, Russell and Crazy Ivan from Sens Underground and another with the host of TSN’s Off The Record Michael Landsberg.
The Redline Report recaps those first two contests and in a new segment, What To Be-Leaf, we suggest what the results from games one and two of the season might mean for the Maple Leafs going forward. Also discussed in The RR is the trade involving Janne Niinimaa and Mike Riberio, Jordan Staal’s future in the NHL this season and the purchase intent agreement signed by James Balsillie to take over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
On The Bubble features more listener email and the debut of another new segment, The Troubling Fact of the Week. Rigamarole pays tribute to the legacy Borje Salming left both on the Maple Leafs and the National Hockey League.
Special thanks again to Michael Landsberg for generously agreeing to come on AFITC to share his thoughts on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Send along your emails, as usual, to afootinthecrease@gmail.com.
The songs featured in this episode from The Podsafe Music Network include “Connectionless” by Francine, “Over My Head” by Christopher Dallman, “Light of Day” by Beyond 7 and “Bring Out The Hook” by Aerosol Halo.
